2015 Brew Riot Homebrew Competition & Beer Run

By Ryan Javier

Go Oak Cliff and the Texas Homebrew Society proudly present the 7th annual Brew Riot Homebrew Competiton! Join us Sunday, May 17th in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas, TX for an afternoon of beer, friends, music, and a little good ol’ fashioned competition.

55 teams have entered this year’s festival and will be competing to earn your vote in the highly competitive People’s Choice Competition. Lagers, IPA’s, Stouts, and many more- experience them all in the best way possible…straight from the taps of the people who created the recipe! Sample as many as you can responsibly taste before you cast your vote for your 1 favorite team!

Also in attendance at Brew Riot are many of our local pro-brewers! Enjoy samples and talk shop with brew masters from DFW breweries including Community, Four Corners, Franconia, and more!

Brew Riot is open to members of the Texas Homebrew Society, and admission is included in your annual membership dues. Membership is easy! Simply sign up online here, and your membership card will be emailed to you. Print your card, bring it with your photo ID so we can verify your name and birth date, and you’re in! No additional ticket needed! ***BRING YOUR PRINTED MEMBERSHIP CARD TO BREW RIOT! This is the key to getting in quickly!***

THE 1.1 BEER RUN

The much-loved-yet-slightly-torturous 1.1 will once again kick off Brew Riot! Put your body through its paces with 3 beer stops along the 1.1 mile route, and celebrate by being the first to crash the gates at Brew Riot!

The run starts at Nova, located at 1417 W Davis St., and includes mandatory beer breaks at The Kessler and Bolsa before rushing the gates of the best Homebrew competition in North Texas! (check-in for runners is at Nova, as well! You do not need to come to Bishop Arts first!) Once at the finish line, you’ll be clear to pass the lines of those unwilling to take the 1.1 challenge and be the first to enter Brew Riot! That’s right- your 1.1 registration includes tasting wristband for Brew Riot! Once you check in at Nova, you’re good to go for both the 1.1 and Brew Riot– no waiting at the gate in Bishop Arts!

Registration for the 1.1 is only available online via Prekindle.com and ends on May 16th or when the event sells out, whichever comes first! No onsite registration is available. Your registration includes:

(1) Registration and beers on the 1.1 mile run route for 1 adult
(2) Annual membership in the Texas Homebrew Society for 1 adult (this includes your Brew Riot admission)
(3) The 1.1 sticker
(4) No waiting at the gate for Brew Riot!

As with all good things in life, you must be 21 years of age to participate. Bring your ID. No ID, no entry, no exceptions.

Many thanks to Nova, The Kessler, and Bolsa for hosting the 1.1 runners!
