Toadies Announce Heretics Fall Headline Tour

Toadies Announce Heretics Fall Headline Tour:

Including October Dates in Historic Texas Dance Halls

SPIN Track Premiere ‘Belly of a Whale’

 ‘Heretics’ Out September 18th

“But if you think going acoustic means going soft, you’ll have to think again– their commitment to creating works that surface from below remains strong.” – Elmore Magazine

August 26th – Ft. Worth, TX: To support their forthcoming album (Heretics, out September 18th via Kirtland Records), Toadies will be hitting the road in September, kicking off with the 8th annual Dia De Los Toadies Festival in Ft. Worth and an October run of historic Texas Dance Halls including Gruene Hall, Luckenbach and Schroeder.

Toadies drummer Mark Reznicek on playing these particular places: “Being from Texas, and influenced and inspired by all things Texan, we wanted to go back to the roots of Texas Music. The more laid back feel of our music on Heretics suits the vibe of these old wooden-floored dancehalls. It seems like a perfect fit

In November, the band will hit the road across N. America to play select venues including City Winery and Hotel Cafe to showcase the ‘chilled out’ vibe of Heretics, an album of stripped down, deconstructed Toadies fan favorites along with a few new songs. Classic tracks Possum Kingdom, Tyler, and Backslider and more are reworked with new instrumentation and arrangements alongside new songs Belly of a Whale and Queen of Scars. The album also has a cover of Blondie’s Heart of Glass, slowed down and gives the song an all together different feel.

Dia De Los Toadies takes place September 11th and 12th on the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. For the third year in a row, Dia is returning to Toadies hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. The festival is celebrating its eighth year and keeping the tradition alive with local Texas talent as well as national acts hand-picked by the band.
Dia de los Toadies kicks off the first night on September 11th with an almost-acoustic performance by the Toadies at The Shack on Panther Island Pavilion with Sarah Jaffe playing a rare solo acoustic opening set. The night will be extra special as it’s the release party for Heretics.   Festival goers purchasing a Friday ticket or weekend pass will receive a signed copy of Heretics at Dia – a week before the street date!    The second day of Dia De Los Toadies will take place across two stages on September 12th. This year’s line-up includes Burden Brothers, Local H, Holy Moly, Buck Pets, Sealion, Son of Stan, and Gollay. Dia de los Toadies promises the best beer (Including their own limited batch of Toadies Bockslider Beer brewed by Martin House), finest of food trucks, and a hell of a rock show curated by the Toadies themselves.

Tickets for Dia De Los Toadies are on sale through Prekindle. For information on tickets, lodging and more visit www.diadelostoadies.com and follow the festival on Facebook and Twitter (@DiaDeLosToadies) for more announcements.
