CBS Sports Network to Televise Pirelli World Challenge GT Round 5 This Sunday at Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Outstanding GT field set for tough street fight at legendary racing weekend
LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 14, 2016) – The high-octane GT racing action of the Pirelli World Challenge in the famed streets of Long Beach will be televised this Sunday on the CBS Sports Network at 2 p.m. EDT/ 11 a.m. PDT.
A strong world-class 24-driver GT field will compete at the 1.9-mile, 11-turn temporary street circuit in the Replay XD Grand Prix of Long Beach presented by Cadillac, part of the 42th annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend. The field will showcase exotic sports car machinery from Cadillac, Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Nissan, Audi, Acura, Bentley, Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz in scheduled 50-minute wheel-to-wheel sprint race.
Four-time, and defending Pirelli World Challenge GT champion Johnny O’Connell will be among the top contenders in Sunday’s Long Beach “street fight” along with former champion Patrick Long, Jon Fogarty, JD Davison, Alvaro Parente, Andrew Davis and Peter Cunningham. The PWC veterans will take on young challengers including Michael Cooper, Michael Lewis, Colin Thompson, Andrew Palmer, Austin Cindric and Ryan Eversley.
Veteran motorsports announcers Rick Benjamin and Jeff Lepper will call the action from Long Beach and Shea Adam will serve as the pit reporter for the CBS Sports Network telecast.

The two-hour telecast will include a variety of special features including qualifying highlights, the popular “Thunder of Pine” fan-fest, and the Porsche Preview with driver interviews and in-depth stories on Cadillac and Replay XD cameras.
In addition, five GT machines will carry live “on-board” Replay XD professional POV action cameras giving fans a unique perspective of the feature race.
With CBS Sports Network carrying the broadcast on Sunday, there will be no live streaming of the Round 5 race via www.world-challenge.com and www.motortrendondemand.com. However, the Pirelli World Challenge twitter feed, @WCRacing, will periscope the Long Beach event live.
