EDGEFEST 26 IS COMING AND IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC

DALLAS, TX – April 30, 2016 – If you’ve never been to Edgefest, you’re missing out! Edgefest is an annual music festival hosted by 102.1fm in Frisco, TX.  There are usually around 12 bands between two stages playing a little over half an hour each . The culmination of energy from each band left you eager for the next, leading up to the headliner.  However, it’s not just the bands that makeup Edgefest, it’s the vendors and the amazing fans that participate.  Gates opened at noon so fans could mill about checking out the various vendor booths or simply claim their spot on the rail where they would remain glued until their favorite band played.

Each year the bands have one thing in common, they all touch several senses leaving you with an unforgettable feeling. The Joy Formidable, Chvrches, Nothing But Thieves, Good Charlotte, Bastille, X Ambassadors, The 1975, and Cage the Elephant and Blue October were among the most desired.  Fans can truly feel engaged with these acts.  Between the artists bantering with the crowd, encouraging them to jump around to the music, or just tossing beach balls around as entertainment, one would expect the crowd to be exhausted but they weren’t.  They pushed on excitedly to the next act.

The bands playing after dark had an added advantage.  Just as the music was insane, likewise were the light shows.  They were incredible and intensified the emotions of the music.  The 1975’s set was amazing due to the vibrant lights and shadow work they used to help you visually enjoy their music.

As usual, Blue October didn’t disappoint.  After having to cancel the opening night of their tour  for their new album “Home” in Austin due to inclement weather, Justin Furstenfeld was an explosion of energy wrapped in poetry. He jumped and leaped and threw his passion to everyone watching. Ryan Delahoussaye, violinist/pianist,  is an amazingly talented artist switching from piano to fiddle or whatever the song demanded, he play.

Each year the lineup seems to get bigger and better.  Edgefest 26 was no exception.   Attendance seemed to be down a bit, however the energy and excitement was just as intense as ever!
