GASPARILLA MUSIC FOUNDATION TO PARTICIPATE IN GIVE DAY TAMPA BAY MAY 3, 2016

Give Day LogoThe Gasparilla Music Foundation (”GMF”) has some fun activities planned for the 3rd annual Give Day Tampa Bay taking place Tuesday May 3rd.  From noon until 2:30pm, GMF will be holding an open mic in downtown Tampa’s Gaslight Park with a variety of instruments plugged in and open to the public.
“We are hoping to bring out some hidden rock stars during their lunch break,” according to Jamie Zinober, the program director. “This is a fun way to blow off some steam or relive your glory days, but most importantly help raise awareness for philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area.”
Additionally, GMF is inviting local organizations to participate in Give Day Campaign through a fun inner office fundraiser to be held on May 3rd.  Our suggestion is to have a casual day or wear your favorite concert T-shirt for a donation.  At the close of business day, an online donation can be made in the amount collected that day.  We encourage participants to post photos using #givedaygmf.
The proceeds raised for GMF during Give Day Tampa Bay will go to its Recycled Tunes program which provides instruments and financial support to local schools and music programs.  To donate, simply go to www.GiveDay.org on May 3, 2016 and find Gasparilla Music Foundation in the list of participating organizations. All donations made are tax-deductible and will remain here in the Tampa Bay area.
Give Day Tampa Bay is a 24-hour, online giving event, designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in this community. This is the third year that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has sponsored this event, which raised $1.75 million for 550 Tampa Bay area nonprofits last year.
