Carlos Santana, Verizon Wireless , Dallas

GRAND PRIAIRE – 10-time Grammy winning artist Carlos Santana has stood the test of time, proving that music knows no age boundaries. The 67-year-old Santana has been wowing audiences with his blues, Latino and rock guitar sounds for four decades and did the same on March 18th at Verizon Wireless Theater in Grand Prairie.

Santana opened the show with the rumble of percussion that has made him famous across multiple musical genres. Two of Santana’s front men storm the stage and are greeted with enthusiastic cheers. Santana, wearing a white suit and white hat, magically appears from the depths of the backstage smoke. He starts the set with “Galaxy Dance”, letting his front men and thundering percussion engage the crowd. And you’ll hear plenty of the guitar riffs that he’s so famous for. Santana’s show is a full on production of lights, smoke, brass and magic that does not disappoint.DSC_3912-Edit

Seeing a Santana show is not only great music, but more of stepping into a time capsule – one that expands from Woodstock to now. He’s one of only a handful of artists with a history or name known throughout the world that is still performing. He has worked with some of the most famous artists around and toured the world with fan-favorite songs like “Black Magic Woman”, “Game of Love”, and “Smooth”. Judging by this performance, you can rest assured that he’ll be around for a long, long time. Santana is currently touring throughout the world this spring.
