St. Louis, MO – Forest Park once again hosted the 7th Annual LouFest, bringing an assortment of sounds, tastes and fun for the whole family.  With 4 stages, 36 bands lined up and food galore, this was the largest LouFest to date.  On the downside St. Louis experienced torrential downpours totaling up to 6 inches in the area Friday.  On the upside, that brought in cooler temperatures, a welcome break from the record breaking heat throughout the weeks leading up to the festival.   Overall the event hit both the weather jackpot and a turnout jackpot to boot.  Numbers are being reported in the 20,000+ range for both Saturday and Sunday for good reason, the lineup of local eats and music was second to none this year.

LouFest boasted 4 stages; Bud Light Stage, Forest Park Stage, Tunespeak BMI Stage and the Shade Stage.   Chris Stapleton headlined Saturday with Lauryn Hill and LCD Soundsystem closing out the show on Sunday.  The festival organizers did an outstanding job listing local acts to include St. Louis favorites such as The Kills, Greensky Bluegrass, Judah and the Lion, Band of Horses, Shakey Graves, and the classic Buddy Guy (an old-timer at seventy-nine this year). Music lovers enjoyed a variety of performances, there was something for even the pickiest tastes.

Musical taste was not the only appetite satisfied, as artists and food vendors added to the LouFest experience. St. Louis hits like Dewey’s Pizza, Mission Taco, and Sugarfire’s Smokehouse were among the wide selection of food options, as well as some more interesting options such as Ices Plain & Fancy ( who use liquid nitrogen to ‘reverse fry’ their popcorn) and Strange Donuts (whose donuts are, in fact, unusual).

The entire St. Louis community once again came together for a successful festival experience.  Raise your glass to LouFest 7 and mark your calendars for round 8!  We have a sneaking suspicion you won’t regret prioritizing this festival next summer.
