Though the band was formed in 2011, drummer Mateo Vosganian and vocalist/guitarist Travis Gray grew up together in the same neighborhood and spent their teenage years playing in bands together in Saratoga Springs.  The two parted ways after high school but eventually found themselves back home playing music together again.  One night while Mateo drank beers with friend Rich Derbyshire, who he knew as the lead guitarist in a local hardcore band, the conversation turned to Wild Adriatic’s search for a bassist.  Rich asked to audition for the band, despite never having played bass before, and as taken aback as Mateo and Travis were, they agreed to let him – and haven’t looked back since.
