A Weekend With Go Go Gadjet and American Authors

GLASBORO, NJ – Go Go Gadjet is one of the most popular cover bands on the East Coast. The five man band is based out of Reading PA and are known for their high energy, wide variety cover songs and incredible light show. What kind of music do they cover? Just about anything you can imagine, the band has covered country, rap, pop and have even thrown in the banjo a few times. They spend every summer playing shows at venues along the East Coast, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey just to name a few. Every February they headlines Penn State’s Dance Marathon THON (THON is a 46 hour no sittting/no sleeping dance marathon run by Penn State Students every Feburary to raise money for childhood cancer), Go Go Gadjet is known as the “THON band” as they have played/closed the event for the last 9 years.
This past Friday the 29th, the band played Hollybash at Rowan University in New Jersey with national act American Authors. While the weather was cold and gloomy, this did not stop the band from putting on their usual show nor did it stop the crowd from having a blast. The band normally plays near 4 hour sets, so choosing what songs to play in 40 minutes was a tough choice, but they still managed to please, playing songs like Twenty One Piliots “Stressed Out” to songs like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”. Rowan University students poured closer to the stage singing and dancing right along with the band. Go Go Gadjet was the perfect choice to set the mood for the headlining act American Authors.
American Authors opened their set around 9:00 with hit single “Go Big or go home” while the crowd sang along every word. Singer Zachary Barnett even left the stage and joined the crowd to get them even more excited for what the rest of the night was to bring. The band covered Walk the Moon’s “Shut up and dance” which was a crowd favorite and closed their set with their huge hit “Best of my Life” bringing the events night to a close.
Saturday night Go Go Gadjet brought it home to the venue Reverb in Reading, PA for for an event called “Glow Show”. The night was filled with lots of glow sticks, robots and many fans in bright neon colors. While there were quite a few set backs with some technical difficulties with the power going on and off, they still pushed forward and made sure they did what they do best, please the fans. The band played from 10:30pm to 2:00 playing 3 different sets, also brining back their very popular light up drums.
