DALLAS, TX – Hundreds of fans poured into the historic Granada Theater on lower Greenville to catch west coast rockers Best Coast as their tour rolled through Big D.

Best Coast was founded in 2009 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and guitarist/bassist/ percussionist Bobb Bruno. After a string of 7” and cassette releases, the L.A.-based duo signed with the label Mexican Summer and released their first studio album, Crazy for You, in 2010.  After spending the better part 2011 touring, Best Coast returned to the studio and The Only Place was released in 2012. The band put out an EP in 2013 called Fade Away and in May of 2015, Best Coast released the LP California Nights.

Opening up for Best Coast in Dallas was the band Bully and they killed it. Expectations were high, given the fact that their debut album, Feels Like, released a day before the Dallas show and sold out online. In fact their entire inventory consisted of the few albums the band had brought with them on this tour.  Barring another pressing, the tour stops are the only place to purchase a hard copy of their debut album.  Bully did not disappoint Dallas. Not only did they warm the crowd, they set the tone for the entire evening with their unique brand of alt-rock.  Through their music, Bully was able to bring much needed brevity to the crowd, which consisted largely of hipsters and millennials.  By the second song, the uptight audience was transformed into free-spirited, fun-loving chillaxing concert goers.

Immediately following Bully, headliners Best Coast took to the stage.  Accompanying the duo were Brady Miller on drums, Brett Mielke on backing vocals and bass and Joe Bautista on keys and guitar.  The band played a lengthy set of fan favorites and new material off their current album California Nights.  In the words of one fan, the “show was spectacular”; a sentiment that was shared throughout the entire venue.  Visit Best Coast online and on Facebook for tour info and more!
