BIG TEXAS BEER FEST 2018

7th Annual Big Texas Beer Fest
Returns March 30-31, 2018

DALLAS, TX  (March 19) – The Big Texas Beer Fest returns to Dallas’ Fair Park Auto Building on March 30-31. The event was founded in 2012, and has raised almost $60,000 for the North Texas Food Bank since inception. Named as Dallas Observer’s best beer festival two years in a row, and Blitz Weekly’s best festival, this year’s event expects to draw 8,000+ attendees across 2 days. The festival is one of the Southwest’s largest beer events, and will feature over 500 beers from more than 100 breweries.

One of the festival organizers, Chad Montgomery, added, “After our seventh year, Big Texas Beer Fest has become a tradition among friends and brewers alike. We love making our festival’s mantra of ‘Connecting people through beer’ a reality.” Chad’s wife and event co-founder Nellie added, “Keeping up with the breweries throughout the year comes naturally when you’re friends with them. We plan all year for this huge party where we can show the attendees what our friends have been working on day in and day out.” The couple hopes that the spirit of camaraderie and friendship carries through all the way down to the attendee experience at Big Texas Beer Fest.

In addition to award-winning beers from all over the world, the festival will also feature 11 local food trucks, local and regional bands such as The Roomsounds and Atlantis Aquarius, and attendees can also samples artisan food and non-alcoholic beverages from local vendors such as Dallas Caramel Company and LUCK. Music and food trucks can be found in the outdoor food and music pavilion. Free Play Richardson (a vintage arcade) will be there in full force creating a vintage ‘Arcade Alley’ where attendees can relive favorite arcade games of their youth.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charity, the North Texas Food Bank.
Tickets for the festival are available at http://www.bigtexasbeerfest.com. Saturday’s VIP tickets are sold out, but Chad notes, “to get the true kid-in-a-candy-store feel, we highly recommend attending our Friday session where we only see about half of the attendance that we do on Saturday.” General admission tickets begin at $35 and Friday VIP tickets can be had for $60. VIP tickets enable attendees to gain entrance to the event one hour early to enjoy all the rare and unique beers with minimal lines.

The festival’s hours are Friday, March 30 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, and Saturday from 2:00-6:30pm. Each VIP session is set to begin 1 hour prior to the times noted above. Parking will be available at Fair Park for $10, but the Montgomery’s recommend people use the DART rail, or use their transportation partner Lyft. The DART rail has a stop on the Green Line at Fair Park, dropping attendees just steps away from the venue. Big Texas Beer Fest has sold out every Saturday since year 2, so organizers recommend purchasing in advance.
