In 2010, 21-year old Jack Tatum released one of the finest cult pop records of the summer whilst ensconced in his senior year of college in Blacksburg, VA. The critically acclaimed debut ‘Gemini’ was underpinned with summery childhood longings, and shot through with the instant dichotomy of anxiety and almost whimsical paranoia. The 2012 follow-up LP, Nocturne is a window into Tatum’s “ideal world” of pop music. Written largely while living in Savannah, GA during 2011, the songs that became Nocturne speak to a new Wild Nothing where the lines between Jack’s influences and personality have been further blurred. The acclaimed album went on to receive several year-end accolades. Jack creates in the studio, alone. On the road, he’ll be joined by a four-piece band featuring Nathan Goodman and Jeff Haley.

The Converse Rubber Tracks program was born out of the brand’s desire to give back to the music community and provide opportunities for artists who might not be able to afford studio time. Since the flagship studio opened in Brooklyn in July 2011, nearly 900 emerging artists have had the opportunity to record original music alongside the Converse Rubber Tracks team of experienced engineers at no cost. At the end of their studio time, the artists retain all of the rights to their own music.

Over the past three years, the program has since expanded beyond the studio in Brooklyn with Converse Rubber Tracks Live and Converse RubberTracks pop-up studios. Converse Rubber Tracks Live is a free music series, offering musicians the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences as the opening act for a high-profile headlining artist or band. Converse RubberTracks pop-up studios have taken the Converse Rubber Tracks experience to vibrant music communities around the globe. Both music platforms have been established in music cities such as Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Montreal, São Paulo, Beijing, Amsterdam, London, Hamburg, Paris, and Mexico City to name a few.

In addition to the year-round brick and mortar studio in Brooklyn, ConverseRubber Tracks pop-up studios will also coincide with the tour dates in each of the five cities: Toronto, Ontario – Noble Street Studios (May 11-15),Boston, MA – Q Division Studios (May 11-15), Los Angeles, CA – The Fortress (May 18-22), and San Francisco, CA – Different Fur Studios (May 18-22). Through the Converse Rubber Tracks program, local, up-and-coming artists in each market will be able to apply for free studio time to record original music in a state-of-the-art studio setting. If selected, artists will spend a full day recording, and at the end of the day, retain all rights to their work. Acts of all ages and genres can obtain more information and instructions on the registration process at http://converse-music.com/rubbertracks.
