Kentucky Landing Returns To Forecastle Festival

Experience craft beers, food trucks, local vendors and more

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Forecastle Festival’s Kentucky Landing will return in 2015, highlighting the best of the Bluegrass State. The area will feature some of Kentucky’s finest beers, food trucks, handcrafted gifts and more.

The Kentucky Landing will feature a variety of locally-made beers including Against the Grain (Louisville), Goodwood (Louisville), Falls City Beer (Louisville), Kentucky Ale (Lexington) and West Sixth Brewing Company (Lexington). A full list of selections can be found at ForecastleFest.com.

Beer lovers will also have the opportunity to try “Close Call Kolsch,” a Beer Camp #140 collaboration beer between the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and The Forecastle Foundation. Brewed in part by Forecastle Captain JK McKnight, it is a slightly hoppy but highly-sessionable Kolsch crafted from German Pilsner Malt and Hefeweizen Yeast, coupled with Amarillo and Nelson hops from Washington and New Zealand. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the “Close Call Kolsch” will benefit The Forecastle Foundation.

After a sampling of Kentucky grown brews, guests can chow down on a selection of Louisville food truck fare like Holy Molé Taco Truck, Lexie Lu’s, Lil’ Cheezer’s and Longshot Lobsta.

The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will present local art vendors on Buy Local Boulevard, featuring Bermuda Highway, The Diaper Fairy (also offering a quiet, private lactation station for nursing mothers), Regalo Art, Revelry Boutique Gallery and Why Louisville.

Hosted by American Poster Institute, the popular API Poster Show will also return to Forecastle this year in the Kentucky Landing and will feature show posters and prints from 10 artists and collectives. This year’s exhibitors include: AngryBlue, Clinton Reno, Cricket Press, Horse, James Flames, Madpixel, Nate Duval, State of Shock Studios, Status Serigraph and Subject Matter Studio.

Highlighted in Rolling Stone as “one of the coolest festivals in America” and acclaimed by American Songwriter as “a rock and roll paradise,” the Forecastle Festival has evolved from a small community event into one of the country’s premier festival destinations.

The event offers an immersive experience that’s distinctly Louisville—beyond the first-class musical lineup—highlighting the region’s burgeoning culinary and arts scene, Kentucky’s unique bourbon heritage and more. The festival continues to emphasize sustainability practices and conservation initiatives, exhibited by the festival’s non-profit organization, the Forecastle Foundation.

The annual festival will be held July 17-19, 2015 at Louisville’s Waterfront Park. Weekend passes and daily tickets are still available at forecastlefest.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
