Slightly Stoopid, over the past two decades, has grown to be one of the most respected acts in the genre. The group’s multi-instrumental cross-genre blend of rock, reggae, folk and blues, melded with hip-hop, punk, and funk elements consistently earns fan and critical acclaim nationwide.

Slightly Stoopid released its new album (“Meanwhile… Back at the Lab”) on June 30 through the band’s own Stoopid Records. Upon release, the album hit the upper reaches of several Billboard charts including: No. 3 Independent Albums, No. 3 Alternative Albums, No. 5 on Top Rock Albums and No. 16 Top Album Sales. The band also recently released a video for the album’s debut single “The Prophet” featuring footage of the late great Bradley Nowell, G-Love, B-Real, Sen Dog, Don Carlos, Angelo Moore, and more.

On their new album, the band members -Kyle McDonald (guitar, bass, vocals), Miles Doughty (guitar, bass, vocals), Ryan “Rymo” Moran (drums), Oguer “OG” Ocon (percussion), Daniel “Dela” Delacruz (saxophone), Paul Wolstencroft (keyboards), Andy Geib (trumpet, trombone) with “unofficial 8th member” Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones/Greyboy Allstars) on saxophone- continue to spotlight the musical experimentation and growth that they are known for exhibiting year after year.

Slightly Stoopid’s “Everything Is Awesome” Tour continues through mid-September, with a series of highly-anticipated festival shows (including KAABOO, Riot Fest, Voodoo Music and more) to follow. Following the fall tour dates, the band’s own “Closer to the Sun” festival in Puerto Morelos will be held in December.
