THE JOY FORMIDABLE ROCKED IRVING PLAZA -

NEW YORK, NY – Touring the U.S. for their third studio album “Hitch”, the London based welsh alternative rock band had full house at the Irving Plaza NYC on April 14th.

The album took 12 months of meticulous work in the studio, it is now time to take it out live in front of the fans. The Irving Plaza was ready. Everyone sang every song and laughed at every funny moment either Ritzy, Rhydian or Matt delivered.

The new fans often say: How can a three piece band sound so rich in sound?

You have to see it to believe it. The energy level goes up as soon as The Joy Formidable hits the stage. The Greatest Light Is The Greatest Shade – perfect start. Followed by their massive hit This Ladder Is Ours.

They can’t wait to go at it in full force. Jumping up and down hits were performed of course, Cradle, Ostrich, Whirring (the band favorite way to say goodnight) as well as moving musical stories like Liana, Wolf’s Law, The Leopard and the Lung.

The Brook was played acoustic from the middle of the crowd. Warm, friendly, organic, close to our hearts.

The Joy Formidable is ours and we are theirs.

What a wonderful night with one of the bands that proves that rock music can’t die. It just re-invents itself.
