COTA HAS A NEW KING

In the kingdom COTA the reign of Marquez is crushed and King Rins reins. The field was set , the King of Cota Respol Honda rider Marc Marquez was once again on the pole with a time of 2m03.787s. His contender Monster Energy Yamaha’s rider Valentino Rossi qualifying just 0.273s down will be at his side. Its a story we have seen played out over the past 6 years. Each year with Marquez victorious.

Marquez blasted into convincing lead once again, at a commanding pace 3 seconds over Rossi.   Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins and Pramac Ducati’s Jack Miller jousted for the final podium spot. Nine laps in, very comfortable in his saddle the unthinkable happened. Marquez bike seemed to just loft out from under him. He struggled to upright it,  his kingdom had come crushing down.  The field blazed past him as he could just watch in frustration.

Rossi fans erupted with cheers and waved there flags . There prince was destined to now be King. Lap after lap his fans held on with him but they noticed a shadow coming from behind. Rins who had battled his way from 7th was now on the heels of Rossi. He knew this track well winning in previous years in Moto 2, and Moto 3. He kept pace waiting watching for that moment, his moment. It came in lap 17 going inside Rossi and emerging in front.  Gasp from the crowd could be heard over the roar of the engines.

Four nail biting laps they battled as Rossi tried to overtake the young prince. It was not to be Rins crossed the finish line in dramatic speed to hold off all contenders and become the new King of COTA.
